Green Power Smoothie

Kale Smoothie

If you’ve followed my blog you already know about my obsession with smoothies.  I definitely get good use out of my blender.  Try this Tropical Green Smoothie and Refreshing and Energizing Smoothie for other options.  This green smoothie is chock full of so many good nutrients and it’s easily customizable so you can switch out, add, or remove ingredients.  I love starting my day with a healthy green smoothie to give me the energy to get through the work day, or really any day.  It is full of fiber that will keep you full and satisfied.

Ingredients:
Use organic ingredients when you can, especially for the greens
2 cups of loosely packed greens – I used kale, but spinach, arugula, romaine and Swiss chard are all good alternatives

1/4 cup chopped cucumbers

1/4 cup chopped celery

1/2 avocado

1/2 chopped banana, preferably frozen

1-1 1/2 cups of water

Optional Ingredients: Flax Seeds, Chia Seeds, Organic Burst Wheatgrass Powder, Hemp Seeds

Blend all ingredients in a high speed blender (I use Nutri-bullet) but I love Ninja and Vitamix as well. Enjoy your healthy and nutrient packed smoothie!
